My Stories

These are the stories behind each Quezz World signature hats.

"The Introduction"

Quezz wanted to introduce the world to his life. Through his hats, he will take the world on a journey about his life, so they could learn all about his story of success and the struggles that he has gone through and overcome in his life. He also wanted to introduce the believe in yourself movement, a movement to get people to realize that once they believe in themselves they can accomplish anything and will become unstoppable.

"Y.G.E." (Young, Gifted, & Educated)

As Quezz was sitting on the couch the summer of 2017, he realized he was very blessed. He was young, healthy, and full of energy. He was finding all the gifts that God had given him. On top of that he was educated by graduating college with two degrees, being in three honor societies and maintaining over a 3.5 GPA while being a student athlete.

"Positive Vibez Only"

As Quezz was growing up he went through a lot of tough times and through those tough times, he always stayed positive. As he got older, he realized that if you have a positive mind, you will have a positive life. So he always encourage people to look for something positive in each day, even if some days they have to look a little harder.

"You Are Not Alone"

Quezz opened up and told the world that he had struggled with suicide and depression. It all started the summer/fall of 2011, and the main reason why he never told anyone about his mental health issues because he didn't want to feel like he was burdening people with his problems, and struggles. He didn't want to be seen as weak, sensitive, or soft, but the main reason he decided to tell the world about his struggles with suicide/depression because he realized his story was bigger than him. He knew by telling his story and talking about it, it could give someone else strength and confidence to come out and talk about theirs. They don't have to feel like they are alone. To bring awareness to suicide prevention, Quezz put the national suicide prevention number on the back of each hat.

"Dear Mama"

Quezz wanted to let the world know why his mama is the strongest person he knows. The early 90s was very special years for his mama, not only did she have two set of twins back to back ('92,'93) she had six kids in four years from 1990-1993. By the time she had the twin boys in 1993, she was only 23 years old. She is an huge inspiration to Quezz because when life knocked her down she got back up and kept believing in herself and raised seven children. Even though they had tough times and struggle a lot (the rips in the hat represent that), she made sure her kids had food on the table, clothes on their back, and a roof over their heads and for that Quezz created this hat just for her.

"East Highland"

Quezz grew up in a neighborhood which was consider a "bad neighborhood" from the people on the outside of it. He remember walking around the hood with his twin brother and his friends. He remember going to Lakebottom Park, going to the game room on 24th Street, walking to The Grill to get him a burger, getting called "Lil O" by the old heads, and jumping Hannan Elementary fence with the neighborhood kids to play football.

Quezz would occasionally hear police sirens and gunshots, but that was kind of normal for everyone in the hood. Overall, Quezz had a good childhood but it was a good period of time where he became mentally tough. His family moved from his childhood home into a one bedroom apartment. It was nine people living in the apartments and his family had to boil hot water in order to take a hot bath and the twin boys had to stack blankets on concrete floors in order to sleep.

At the end of the day, growing up in his neighborhood and going through those hard times made Quezz mentally and physically tough. He knew he could handle anything life throws his way, but he couldn't let his environment limited his potential so in order to reach his full potential he had to get of the hood and football allowed him to do that.
